The analog serial converter is based on the STIF A2D8 / 2.5 module. The analog input value is converted to a serial NMEA signal according to IEC61162 and transmitted to the module output in a galvanically isolated manner.

The analog rudder position signal is converted to a serial NMEA ($_ _ RSA …) by the VL-ASU08. In the course of this, non-linear transmitter signals may also be linearised. The VL-ASU08  includes two analog inputs and may be employed with double steering gears.
